Weapons of Rebellion

Earlier this week I was remembering the story of the Anti-Nephi-lehies. These people were Lamanites who changed their name after they were converted. They also promised that they would not shed blood anymore.

Alma 23:7

7 For they became a righteous people; they did lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more, neither against any of their brethren.

Each of us has weapons of rebellion which are things that keep us from strengthening our relationship with God. We must lay down these weapons just as the Lamanites who became converted and laid down their actual weapons of war. By making this sacrifice, we show God how much we love Him and we cease from rebelling against Him. As a result, we will enjoy the peace and happiness that come from the presence of the Spirit. We will have a stronger desire to do what is right.
